As temperatures become more pleasant, the spots that close for the summer are returning to Dubai. From October, outdoor markets, gardens, sporting events, and other open-air activities are coming back to life.

October in Dubai is the time when much of life moves back outdoors. Following the hottest months, popular attractions are reopening, weekend markets are returning, and the calendar is filling up with open-air events. This year's winter season has already begun, and many favorite spots are back in operation.

Global Village is back

One of the most notable returns is Global Village, which opened on October 14 and will remain in operation until May 2027. This year's edition once again brings together gastronomy, culture, shopping, entertainment, and pavilions from various parts of the world. In a single evening, visitors can sample cuisines from several continents, browse themed stalls, and stop by for live performances or attractions.

For many residents, this isn't just a one-time tourist stop. During the more pleasant months, Global Village becomes a go-to destination for evening plans, dinner, shopping, or a weekend with the family, making it a place people return to again and again.

Ripe Market returns to Academy Park

Since October 10, the Ripe Market has also been operating at Dubai Police Academy Park. Every weekend, you can find local brands, small-scale producers, farmers, design, fashion, and food concepts here. There is also sports, wellness, and a program for children. It will be open until May 2, 2027, every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Ripe Market perfectly captures the winter rhythm of Dubai. Instead of air-conditioned interiors, it’s all about long breakfasts outdoors, weekend shopping, and afternoons spent in the park.

Millions of flowers at Miracle Garden

After its summer break, the Dubai Miracle Gardenalso opened on October 8 and will remain accessible until May 31, 2027. The area is known for its extensive floral installations, arches, themed decorations, and striking objects created from millions of live flowers.

The individual installations are updated periodically, so even for Dubai residents, it isn't necessarily a place you only need to visit once. Each year brings new themes and refreshed exhibits, making the garden feel a little different every time.

Dubai Safari Park

In Dubai Safari Park , there are nearly 3,000 animals divided into several themed zones focusing on African, Asian, or Arabian fauna. One of the main attractions is the Explorer Safari Tour, during which visitors travel through the area in a safari vehicle for approximately 35 minutes to observe more than 35 species, including lions, tigers, and rhinoceroses.

For families with children, it also offers a Kids Farm, giraffe and lemur feeding, and a bird of prey show. This makes it easy to turn your visit into a full-day outing rather than just a quick stop.

Hatta as a city escape

Reopening on September 28th is Hatta Wadi Hub in the Hajar Mountains. It offers mountain biking, hiking trails, ziplining, archery, climbing, and horseback riding, while at Hatta Dam, you can go kayaking or paddle boating.

Hatta is part of the Emirate of Dubai, but its atmosphere feels completely different from the city center. Beyond a day trip, you can also stay overnight in glamping resorts or mountain lodges. This year, for example, private plunge pools were added to select Premier Lodges, along with the new Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas concept.

The whole city gets moving

The tenth annual Dubai Fitness Challengekicks off on October 31st and runs until November 29th. The concept is simple: 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days. Sports facilities and public spaces across the city are participating in the program, and many of the activities are free.

Among the biggest events are Dubai Ride, which will turn Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai into a cycling route on November 1st, and Dubai Run on November 22nd, when one of Dubai's most famous roads opens up to runners of all ages. Alongside these, there will be group classes, yoga, running training sessions, and other sporting events.

And it doesn't end in October

December will bring more major events. From December 4th to January 17th, 2027, the Dubai Shopping Festivalwill take place, offering concerts, gastronomy, and other programming across the city in addition to shopping promotions.

Starting December 11th, returning to Al Wasl Plaza in Expo City is also Winter CityThis year's edition is being produced in collaboration with Disney+ and will feature Christmas decorations, a themed program, and other festive experiences.
